FC AshantiGold secure signing of former Goldstars and RTU forward Augustine Ronald Frimpong

Division One League side, FC AshantiGold, have secured the signing of former Bibiani Goldstars and Real Tamale United attacker, Augustine Ronald Frimpong in the ongoing transfer window.

The attacker joins the ambitious lower-tier club on short term deal after ending his spell with Bibiani Goldstars. Despite strong interest from Ghana Premier League clubs including, Karela United and Nations FC, Frimpong opted for the AshantiGold project.

Frimpong is expected to travel to Obuasi to begin a new chapter with the Miners, who are seeking for promotion to the top-flight.

The experienced attacker was not registered by Goldstars at the beginning of the Ghana Premier League campaign following his participation in the University games, where UDS emerged as winners.

With both parties serving ties, the forward has found a new home, joining the Division League outfit for the second half of the campaign. He joined Goldstars in 2023 and helped the miners to annex the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.

Frimpong has made 112 appearances in the Ghana Premier League between Real Tamale United and Bibiani Goldstars, scoring 15 goals and providing 6 assists across the period.

With his wealth of experience, he is expected to play a huge role for FC AshantiGold in the Premier League promotion bid.

FC Ashantigold currently sit top in Zone 2 of the Division One League, accumulating 30 points after 14 matches into the campaign.
