Swedru All Blacks explain decision to hire Kassim Mingle
· GhanaSoccernetSwedru All Blacks have detailed the strategic reasoning behind their recent coaching change, revealing that the appointment of Kassim Ocansey Mingle was driven by the club's ambition to rebrand and climb the football hierarchy with experienced leadership.
Public Relations Officer Nathaniel Obeng explained that the decision to part ways with former manager Ahmed Fathi was influenced by both health-related factors and a clear vision for the club's future.
"As a traditional club on a journey to rewrite our history, rebrand and reposition the brand, we needed certain experienced and strong hands to take over the technical department of the club," Obeng told Citi Sports.
The club identified Mingle, a coach with a proven track record at clubs like Nations FC and Bechem United, as the ideal candidate to fulfil this vision.
"We believe that he—Mingle—has good experience, good qualifications to handle the team," Obeng stated. "We believe that with his experience and tactical prowess, he will be the best fit to replace Fathi."
Despite losing Mingle's debut match 1-0 to Bibiani Gold Stars, the club remains optimistic, focusing on the positives from the performance. "Though we lost, there were huge positives that we can build upon, and we are optimistic that Kassim Mingle will be able to take us to the level that all of us are looking for," Obeng added.
Mingle faces an immediate and symbolic test as he leads Swedru All Blacks against his former club, Nations FC, in the MTN FA Cup Round of 16 on Saturday, February 7.
The club's leadership is confident that his insider knowledge and tactical acumen will be crucial in navigating this challenge and setting a new course for the team.
