Carlos Queiroz has named a 28-man Black Stars squad for Ghana’s World Cup preparation camp and the friendly against Wales in Cardiff.

The group is balanced across the pitch, with five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards selected for the next phase of preparations.

The squad assembled in Cardiff on Monday, May 25, and trained at Dragon Park ahead of the June 2 friendly against Wales. It is a useful test for Ghana as the team continues building toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

There are some encouraging returns in the group. Baba Abdul Rahman is back for the first time since September 2023 after a strong season with PAOK, while Ernest Nuamah returns after recovering from a long ACL injury layoff. Abdul Mumin, Augustine Boakye and Alidu Seidu also make their way back into the setup.

Ajax youngster Paul Reverson has been included for further assessment, showing that the technical team is also thinking about the future. Ghana will begin its World Cup campaign against Panama in Toronto, before facing England and Croatia in Boston and Philadelphia.
