Kumasi Mayor Richard Agyemang wants Asante Kotoko to employ foreign coach
· GhanaSoccernetChief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang, widely known as King Zuba has called on Asante Kotoko to employ the services of an expatriate coach amid Karim Zito’s inconsistent performance.
Agyemang in an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM expressed his displeasure about the performance of Zito, urging the hierarchy of the Porcupine Warriors to appoint an experienced expatriate coach to lead the club.
Zito joined the Porcupine Warriors half-way last season and managed to secure the Ghana FA Cup title, defeating lower-tier club Golden Kicks FC.
In the current campaign, the Porcupine Warriors has been inconsistent under the former Dreams FC tactician, recording just on win from their last five games in the Ghana Premier League.
Before beating Dreams FC last Saturday, the Ghanaian giants had gone four matches in the Premier League without recording a single win, losing two and drawing two across the period.
“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over. For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach” he said.
After 14 matches into the campaign, the Ghanaian football heavyweights find themselves in the third position, accumulating 24 points.
