Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has urged the Black Princesses to live up to their reputation as the country’s most consistent national team when they face Tunisia in the first leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Okraku visited the Princesses’ training camp in Accra on Wednesday to motivate the players ahead of Saturday’s crucial tie at the Tayeb Mhiri Stadium in Sfax.

He emphasised the team’s history of success and consistency on the global stage, noting that expectations are higher than ever.

“On the African continent, you’ve been dominant, and everyone in Ghana expects great things from you.

“To achieve your goals, you need to prepare well, and I believe you’ve had decent preparation for this crucial game against Tunisia. We have no doubt that you’re ready, despite the challenges,” Okraku told the squad.

The Black Princesses have qualified for the past seven editions of the U-20 Women’s World Cup – a record unmatched by any other Ghanaian national team – and are once again aiming to secure a place at next year’s tournament.

Executive Council member Eugene Nobel was also present at the camp to show support to the players and technical team as they gear up for the first-leg encounter.
