2025 CAF Awards: Super Falcons edge Black Queens to claim Women’s National Team of the Year award

The Black Queens of Ghana have missed out on the women’s national team of the year award at the 2025 CAF Awards.

At the awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, November 19, the Super Falcons beat the Black Queens and Morocco’s women’s national team to claim the prize.

The Black Queens were selected for the award after an impressive Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this year.

The Black Queens finished the tournament as bronze medalists, having missed the last two editions of the tournament.

Although the Queens missed out on the award, they will be delighted to have made it into the final shortlist.

The team has transformed in the past year and is now aiming to qualify for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup.

In the next assignment of the team, they will take on the Three Lions of England in an international friendly in two weeks.
