GPL: Medeama SC will be champions at the end of the season – Ibrahim Tanko

The head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Ibrahim Tanko, has declared that his side will be crowned champions of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the end of the season.

The Yellow and Mauves, after going six matches without a win, finally returned to winning ways on Friday, beating bottom-placed Eleven Wonders 2-0 at the TnA Stadium.

Elated with the win, Ibrahim Tanko applauded his players for controlling the game and ensuring they amassed all the points at the end of the contest.

While he admits the last eight matches of the league season will be tough, Tanko is optimistic that his team will go on to clinch the league title at the end of the season.

“Normally, the last seven to eight games won’t be easy, but I think we have to take it game by game and I’m sure by the end of the league we will be champions,” the coach told Medi TV in his post-match interview.

Friday’s win against Eleven Wonders has propelled Medeama SC back to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings, temporarily ahead of the remaining Week 27 matches scheduled for March 28 and March 29.
