GPL: We want to have control – Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko shares approach for Kotoko clash
· GhanaSoccernetThe head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has opened up about how his team will approach their upcoming Ghana Premier League clash against Asante Kotoko.
The Tarkwa-based outfit will welcome the Porcupine Warriors to the TnA Stadium on Sunday, April 12, in a crucial Week 29 fixture of the 2025/26 league campaign.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Tanko described the next game as a big one, arguing that his side must be at their best to secure victory.
Asked about his approach, the coach disclosed that his team will set up to control the game, knowing that the visitors are a good side and the game won’t be easy.
“I think playing Kotoko is always a big game, not only because of the name Kotoko, but because of where we are in the league now. Every game is very important, and we are playing at home, so we want to control the game. We want to win definitely,” Ibrahim Tanko told Medi TV.
The Medeama SC coach added, “We want to keep our three points here. It's not going to be easy, but like I said, we trained very well this week, and I hope that the boys will make it happen.”
The upcoming showdown between Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm on Sunday.
