Kotoko coach Karim Zito calls for right attitude ahead of Kwara Utd tie
· GhanaSoccernetThe head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has stressed that having the right attitude and mindset is key to his team’s campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The experienced tactician led the Porcupine Warriors to claim the MTN FA Cup in the 2024/25 football season.
Courtesy of that feat, the Kumasi-based club is representing Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
In the team’s first test, Asante Kotoko are set to battle Kwara United from Nigeria.
Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview ahead of the first meeting with Kwara United, Karim Zito argued that although his team won’t play at the Baba Yara Stadium, they must prepare to play at the Accra Sports Stadium with the right attitude and mindset.
“You have to believe in your situation and not lie to yourself. This is the reality we are facing. Immediately after Berekum Chelsea game, we are moving to Accra, so the mentality has to be Accra. The perception should be Accra, because that is where we are going to play in Africa whether we like it or not. After that, we travel again. So, it’s the same thing, it all comes down to attitude and mindset,” Zito said.
The CAF Confederation Cup first leg meeting between Asante Kotoko and Kwara United will be played on Sunday, September 21. The game will kick off at 3 pm at Accra Sports Stadium.
