Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has emphasised the importance of beating Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League this weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors will host their Week 20 opponent at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 25.

Asante Kotoko are heading into the match on the back of a three-game winless run, which has affected their chances of clinching the league title at the end of the 2025/26 football season.

Speaking in his pre-match interview, Karim Zito rallied his players to take the upcoming fixture seriously and do everything to amass the maximum points.

“We have to take this game seriously, both technically and the players themselves. We need a positive attitude and to win at all costs,” Coach Zito said.

Holy Stars, on the other hand, head into the Week 20 fixture with one win in the last three games, a form that needs to be improved if they want to escape relegation at the end of the season.

Sunday’s clash between Asante Kotoko and Holy Stars will kick off at 3:30 pm.
