World Cup 2026: 'The challenge ahead is not going to be easy' – Ernest Nuamah
· GhanaSoccernetBlack Stars winger Ernest Nuamah has admitted that Ghana faces a difficult task at the 2026 FIFA World Cup but believes hard work and dedication can see the team achieve something special.
Speaking from camp in Cardiff ahead of the friendly against Wales, the 22-year-old acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge awaiting the Black Stars in North America.
"The challenge ahead is not going to be easy, but with hard work and dedication, we are going to achieve something," Nuamah said.
The winger, who is returning to the national team after a year-long injury layoff, expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their prayers and support throughout his recovery. He also stressed the importance of unity and collective effort.
"We really want to give it all for the nation, for the flag. To Ghanaian fans, I just want to say, 'Thank you to everyone for your support and your prayers. It hasn't been easy for me getting an injury.' I've worked really hard to get to this point, and I can't wait to give my all."
Nuamah also highlighted the need to adapt to head coach Carlos Queiroz's system, describing it as the most important factor in the team's preparations.
"With all your prayers, we can do something this time," he added.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. The Black Stars open their campaign against Panama on June 17. For Nuamah, the message is clear: the road is hard, but the team is ready to fight.
