Samartex 1996 coach Christopher Ennin has expressed satisfaction following his outfit stalemate against Medeama in matchday six of the Ghana Premier League.

The Timber Giants ensured they return to Sameraboi with a point in a high-stake clash held at the TNA stadium in Tarkwa last Saturday.

Samartex took a surprise lead in the first half when Dramani Awuah produced a moment of brilliance, scoring from the centre circle after Medeama carelessly lost possession. The audacious strike stunned the home fans and gave Samartex hope of recording their first away win of the season.

However, Medeama’s relentless pressure finally paid off in the dying moments of the match. In the 89th minute, Kingsley Braye pounced on a rebound, tapping home from close range to rescue a point for the defending champions.

“It’s quite not a bad results. Playing against league leaders and picking a point is not bad at all. We can’t complain because we played against one of the biggest clubs in Ghana. We need to go back and put one or two things in order” he said.

Medeama remain on top of the Ghana Premier League table with 13 points, whiles Samartex sit sixth spot with 10 points after 6 matches so far this season.
