The head coach of Hohoe United, Abdul Rahim Bashiru, has revealed his team’s ambition for the second round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

According to him, the team is determined to pick up at least 25 points from the 17 matches they will be playing in the final half of the campaign.

He is hoping that this will be enough to ensure Hohoe United escape relegation at the end of the season.

“Out of 17 matches, we have accumulated 18 points. It’s not good for the team. We have a target to stay in the league, so we have to try as much as possible to at least get 25 points in the second round.

“That’s exactly what we are going to do if we really want to stay in the league. If we get more, that’s a bonus, but we are going to fight very well in the league,” Abdul Rahim Bashiru said after Hohoe United drew goalless with Heart of Lions on Friday.

After the draw against Heart of Lions, Hohoe United have dropped to 15th in the Ghana Premier League standings. Dropping more points in the next match against Hearts of Oak could drag the team into the relegation zone.
