Yusif Chibsah, Head of Player Relations at the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), has shared his view that Albert Amoah’s departure from Asante Kotoko is a setback for the club.

Chibsah explained that Amoah had become an important player for the Porcupine Warriors, and losing him affects the club and the team.

The striker recently joined Libyan side Al Ahli Benghazi, just days after Kotoko’s 5–1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup, a move that caught many by surprise.

"In Albert situation from what I am hearing both player and club agreed terms Kotoko needs money and the player also feels that it is time for him to leave. It is fine but coming to the sporting reasons is not good for the club and for the team as well his second year with Kotoko and he is been doing so well," as aired by Peace FM.

"He is the talisman of the team in other areas what Kotoko should have done is try to renew his contract try to make him comfortable here that means give him more money or more bonus. And the boy accepted the terms from Libya it all comes down to the terms not only the money the terms and conditions around it this case Kotoko also needs money they need to run their club. These are areas that we need to pay critical attention,"
