2025/26 Ghana Premier League: Week 9 Match Preview – Nations FC vs Hohoe United

Nations FC will be eyeing their first win under new head coach Frimpong Manso when they host Hohoe United at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday.

Manso began his reign with a goalless draw away to Bechem United, a result that showed promise after a difficult start to the season, which saw the dismissal of Kassim Mingle.

The Abrankese side currently sit 11th on the Ghana Premier League table with 9 points, having won two, drawn three, and lost three of their eight matches so far.

Despite their inconsistencies, Nations FC have been solid at home, going unbeaten in four matches (W2, D2) at home. They have scored five goals and conceded three in those fixtures, and Manso will be eager to deliver his first victory in front of their supporters and build momentum moving forward.

Hohoe United, one spot above Nations on the table, also have 9 points but are without a win in their last three matches. The Premier League newcomers played out a 1-1 draw against Medeama SC last weekend, showing resilience but also underlining their need for improvement, especially away from home. They remain winless on the road, having taken just one point from three away matches while failing to score and conceding four goals.

Head coach Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru will hope his side can break that poor away run, but they face a tough challenge against a Nations FC side desperate to claim their first win under new leadership.
