The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly set a semi-final target for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, to be staged in Morocco.

The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to take place in the North African country between December 2025 and January 2026, with 24 nations set to battle for the covetous trophy.

Following a crucial meeting on Monday, the domestic football governing body (NFF) and Chelle have agreed on a realistic performance benchmark for the team at the continental showpiece in the North African country.

Besides, the Malian tactician has been instructed to inject new talent into the squad, following Nigeria’s disappointing failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles have been drawn into Group C against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda as they team aim for a strong run in the tournament. Having fell short to Ivory Coast in previous tournament, the West African football heavyweights are aiming to make a meaningful impact in Morocco.
