Asante Kotoko part ways with defender Samuel Tenadu

Asante Kotoko SC have reportedly mutually terminated the contract of defender Samuel Tenadu over medical reasons.

The left-back has been sidelined for several months due to a long-term injury, preventing him from making a return to competitive action.

Despite signing a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors, Tenadu’s time at the club has been cut short, denying him the opportunity to fully establish himself.

The defender signed for Asante Kotoko from Legon Cities FC during the 2024/25 league season and spent just over a season and a half with the club before recurring injuries forced an early exit.

At the time of his arrival, the defender was highly rated for his tenacity and work rate, with expectations that he would grow into a key figure and fill the void left by Ibrahim Moro.

However, persistent injury setbacks disrupted his progress and ultimately limited his impact at the club.

Sources anticipate that an official communication from the club on the termination of the player’s contract will be issued this week.

It is unclear if the club will take advantage of the transfer window to recruit a new defender or rely on some of the youth players on the bench to fill the void for the remainder of the season.
