Jamil Maraby, the Director of Marketing at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has outlined an ambitious plan to position Ghana football among the most recognisable brands globally.

Maraby, who oversees branding, sponsorship and commercial strategy for the GFA, said the vision is to grow the image of Ghana football beyond the continent and compete on a global level.

“I want the GFA to be the top three most identifiable brands in Africa, in the world,” he said on the GFA Podcast

“The world? Yes, because in Africa it’s easy.”

He admitted the target is bold but noted it reflects a long-standing ambition tied to the use of football as a tool for wider influence.

“That’s an audacious target. Our founder, that was his target. He wanted to use football and the Black Stars to project his vision for Africa.”

The comments come as the GFA continues efforts to strengthen its brand and expand its reach through the global appeal of the Black Stars.
