Brighton and Hove Albion Sporting Director Jason Ayto has stated that a loan move to Birmingham City represents a "good opportunity" for the development of young Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman.

The 21-year-old, who joined Brighton from Feyenoord, has now secured a temporary move to the EFL Championship side after an initial six-month loan spell in France's Ligue 1 with AJ Auxerre.

Speaking to Brighton's official media, Ayto expressed confidence in the move, saying, "This is a good opportunity for Ibrahim to continue his development back here in England after a six-month spell in the French league."

He emphasised the importance of regular playing time for the talented forward, adding, "It means Ibrahim will continue playing regular football, and Birmingham City will provide another good environment. We will be monitoring his progress and wish him well for the second half of the season."

Osman, who has already earned call-ups to the Ghana national team, made 15 appearances for Auxerre during the first part of the season.

The move to Birmingham City, currently 13th in the Championship, offers him a chance to adapt to the demands of English football as Brighton continues to oversee his long-term progression.

The Premier League club will be closely tracking his performances as he seeks to make an impact in one of Europe's most competitive leagues, with an eye toward eventually breaking into Brighton's first-team plans.
