Vieira praises Antoine Semenyo’s consistency and personality at Manchester City

Arsenal legend  PatrickVieira has identified  Antoine Semenyo as one of the Premier League’s premier performers since the turn of the year, following the forward's transformative impact at Manchester City.

Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of City’s crucial 2–1 victory over Arsenal on April 19, 2026, Vieira praised the Ghanaian international for his character and consistent goal-scoring form since his £64 million move from Bournemouth in early January.

"I think he’s been one of the best players in the Premier League since January. He came into the team with strong character and personality. He’s been scoring goals and playing consistently—he’s been quite impressive since joining City."

Semenyo has rapidly justified his status as City’s first major signing of 2026, netting five goals in just 11 league appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.

His arrival has bolstered a front line missing key figures like Oscar Bobb, with Vieira noting that the 26-year-old has played with a personality that belies his short time at the Etihad Stadium.

In total, he has scored 8 goals across all competitions for City since joining, scoring on his debut against Exeter City in the FA Cup.

He has already won the EFL Cup title with City.
