Ghanaian midfielder Shadrack Addo has taken a significant step in his budding career after joining Atletico Madrid on loan from Spanish side Trival Valderas until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The Spanish giants confirmed that Addo will feature for their Juvenil A team, competing in the Youth Division of Honour, following an agreement reached between both clubs.

The move caps an impressive rise for the former Asante Kotoko player, who has steadily built his reputation in Spain over the past year.

Addo, who holds Spanish-Ghanaian roots, attracted widespread attention after a strong start to the season with Trival Valderas’ Juvenil A side.

His energetic midfield displays and high pressing stood out, particularly in eye-catching performances against Rayo Alcobendas and Real Madrid, where he even found the net after forcing an error in build-up play.

Before moving to Europe, the midfielder featured prominently in the Ghana Premier League, making 25 appearances and scoring once across two seasons for Asante Kotoko.

His rapid development did not go unnoticed, with several top Spanish clubs including Real Madrid, Villarreal and Girona monitoring his progress closely.

However, Atletico moved decisively to secure his services, with sources indicating the player had been earmarked as part of the club’s long-term youth development.
