Ghana coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has expressed frustration after his side's 1-1 draw with Mali in their second Group C match at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), pointing to dominant statistics that failed to translate into victory.

Speaking after the match, the Swedish coach highlighted Ghana’s superior performance across key metrics. “We had 2.66 expected goals against Mali's 0.62. We had very high possession. We had 8 big shots against 4 from Mali,” he said.

Despite taking the lead through Alice Kusi in the first half, the Black Queens were pegged back in the second half by a determined Malian side, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to snatch an equaliser.

Bjorkegren’s remarks reflect growing frustration within the camp, especially as the draw now places Ghana in a must-win position for their final group game against Tanzania
