Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has dedicated the win against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers to Ghanaians.

The centre-back made the Black Stars starting eleven that faced the Eagles on Monday night after missing last Thursday’s draw against Chad.

Back in the starting eleven, Djiku helped the Black Stars to secure a crucial 1-0 win, netting the only goal of the game that earned all three points for his side.

In a post on social media after the match, the defender expressed appreciation to God for the win, indicating that players gave everything for the country.

“All for the nation. Thanks God,” Alexander Djiku said in a post on X.

Following the victory against Mali on Monday, Ghana sits top of the Group I standings with 19 points, three ahead of Madagascar in second place, and four more than Comoros in third.

The Black Stars will now look to secure the World Cup ticket in the October international break when they face Central African Republic and Comoros in the last two matches of the qualification campaign.
