2024 WAFCON: Check out Group C standings after Ghana fails Mali test in second game

The Black Queens of Ghana remain bottom of the Group C standings after failing to win any of their first two matches at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Queens opened the tournament with a tough encounter against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.

Although Ghana impressed with a good performance, South Africa showed supremacy to secure a 2-0 win to begin their title defense on a positive note.

Today, the Black Queens of Ghana faced off with Mali in their second Group C match of the tournament.

In a match where the Queens were favourite to win, Mali showed resilience, drawing 1-1 with Ghana at the end of the 90 minutes.

After the match, things are not looking good for the Black Queens of Ghana.

The team sits bottom of the Group C standings with one point. South Africa remains top of the pile with four points, the same as Mali in second.

Ghana’s next opponent, Tanzania, is third in the group with one point.

The Black Queens must now do everything to win their final Group C match to stand any chance of advancing to the knockout stage of the 2024 WAFCON.
