Ghana defender Gideon Jung eager to help new club Alemannia Aachen
· GhanaSoccernetGerman-born Ghanaian defender Gideon Jung has declared his readiness to make an immediate impact at his new club, expressing particular enthusiasm about helping Alemannia Aachen with "full energy" following his transfer.
The 31-year-old defensive all-rounder completed a move to the German side after most recently featuring for Turkish Süper Lig club Kayserispor.
Jung brings a wealth of experience to his new team, having taken his first senior steps at Rot-Weiss Oberhausen before establishing himself during a long spell with Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
With a career total of 83 top-flight appearances and 125 matches in Germany's second division, Jung's pedigree is further highlighted by his success at youth international level, having won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship with Germany in 2017.
In his first comments as an Alemannia Aachen player, Jung pointed to the straightforward nature of the negotiations as a key factor in his decision. "I am very happy to now be part of the team," he said. "The conversations with Rachid and Mersad were open and clear from the start. After the past few months, I especially want to get back into the rhythm quickly and help the squad with full energy."
The signing represents a significant addition for Alemannia Aachen as they look to bolster their defensive options with a player eager to reignite his career and contribute from the outset.
