Nashville SC sign Ghanaian midfielder Shakur Mohammed
· GhanaSoccernetGhanaian midfielder Shakur Mohammed has joined MLS side Nashville SC ahead of the 2026 season.
The 22-year-old signed a deal to join Nashville for the 2026 season with options for the 2027 and 2027/28 campaigns.
Nashville SC acquired the talented midfielder via the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) from Orlando City SC and the latter will also receive the former's natural Third Round pick in the 2027 MLS SuperDraft.
“Shak is a talented attacking player who has been a bright prospect in college and in MLS NEXT Pro, and we are excited to see him continue to grow into his potential with us here in Nashville,” said Nashville SC President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Mike Jacobs.
Mohammed has shown huge potential with Orlando City's MLS Pro side, where he netted 28 goals and delivered 6 assists in 79 matches.
With the first team, he made five appearances for Orlando City. He joined the club through the 2023 MLS SuperDraft as the number two overall pick.
Mohammed moved to the United States from the Right to Dream Academy in 2018 and has featured for Black Rock FC, Blue Devils and Manhattan.
