DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Says Season 2 Tops DAREDEVIL Season 3's “I Beat You” Moment

Marvel fans still talk about the brutal showdown between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk at the end of DaredevilSeason 3. That confrontation, where Matt finally breaks Fisk down and roars “I beat you,” remains one of the most memorable moments in Marvel television.

According to Vincent D’Onofrio, the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again may deliver something even bigger.

The new season runs for eight episodes and continues the story right where Season 1 leaves off. Matt Murdock is forced to step up once again as Daredevil, forming a resistance to push back against Mayor Wilson Fisk and the anti-vigilante task force tightening its grip on the city.

During an interview with IMDb, Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox took part in a fan Q&A while promoting the upcoming season. One question asked what scene their characters should be known for, and D’Onofrio immediately pointed to the unforgettable finale of Netflix’s Daredevil Season 3.

That sequence shows Matt unleashing years of anger on Fisk in a savage fight, repeatedly striking him while declaring victory. It’s a moment that perfectly captures the inner conflict that defines Matt Murdock. He wants Fisk gone forever, but his moral code won’t let him cross that line.

D’Onofrio explained what makes the scene so powerful, pointing out the dual nature of the hero, and reflects on the emotional weight of that confrontation.

“Because Daredevil is the one that’s smashing him. But Matt is underneath the skin of that character, and he can’t kill him, and I think that’s an amazing thing.”

Then he dropped a tease that should get Marvel fans excited. According to D’Onofrio, the new season of Daredevil: Born Again pushes things even further and may actually surpass that iconic moment.

While discussing the upcoming season, D’Onofrio also talked about working with Matthew Lillard, who joins the series as Mr. Charles, a political rival to Fisk. The veteran actor had plenty of praise for his new co-star.

“There’s nobody like him.”

D’Onofrio also pointed to Lillard’s long career and specifically praised his performance in SLC Punk!. The actor explained that filming scenes with Lillard and Ayelet Zurer, who returns as Vanessa Fisk, made their time shooting at New York City’s Gracie Mansion especially enjoyable.

With Matt Murdock assembling allies and Fisk tightening his hold on power, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 sounds like it’s gearing up for some intense confrontations.

If D’Onofrio is right and the new season tops that unforgettable “I beat you” moment, Marvel fans could be in for one seriously awesome chapter in Daredevil’s story.

Season 2 of the Disney+ series premieres on March 24, 2026 as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
