AFCON 2025: 3 teams Super Eagles could face in Round of 16 revealed
by Ifreke Inyang · Daily PostThe three teams Nigeria could face in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been revealed.
The Super Eagles qualified for the knockout stages as winners of Group C, following victories over Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
Eric Chelle’s men could now face Cameroon, Mozambique or Ivory Coast for a place in the quarter-finals.
This was revealed by the team’s former press officer, Colin Udoh, via his X account.
Udoh wrote: “Nigeria will play the best third-placed team in Group F. At this time, that can be any of CIV, Cameroon or Mozambique.
“Gabon are unlikely to beat CIV, so that removes the Elephants, even if they draw.
“But Mozambique could well do the unthinkable and beat Cameroon. That means Nigeria play Cameroon. Just like in 2019.”
