Transfer: Messi set to dump Inter Miami after Club World Cup exit

by · Daily Post

Inter Miami superstar, Lionel Messi, could quit the MLS side ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

This comes after he and his teammates suffered a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup last 16.

Messi’s current contract with Miami runs out at the end of 2025.

It is understood that the 38-year-old has reportedly put negotiations over a fresh deal on hold.

According to journalist Esteban Edul, Messi might not extend it.

While Messi’s deal includes the option for a 12-month extension, it has yet to be triggered.

Edul also claimed the Argentina captain wants to move to a more competitive league.

Messi is believed to be keen on playing at the top level in the final six months before his country begins their World Cup title defence in North America.
