NPFL: Okara blames carelessness for Bayelsa United loss to Abia Warriors

Bayelsa United technical adviser, Meremu Okara has blamed carelessness for his team’s defeat against Abia Warriors.

The Prosperity Boys suffered a 1-0 defeat to Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Monday.

Chukwuemeka Obioma scored the only goal of the game.

Okara believed that the inability of his to convert their chances also played a role in the defeat.

“The game of football’s all about goalscoring and creating chances which we didn’t take in the game,” Okara stated in a post-match interview.

“Abia Warriors scored once due to the carelessness of our defenders, we created about three chances which we didn’t take.”

Bayelsa United sit in 16th position on the NPFL table.
