AFCON: They dominated – Moses Simon on Nigeria’s second-half struggle against Tunisia
by Don Silas · Daily PostMoses Simon, Super Eagles winger, has shared his thoughts on Nigeria’s second-half struggles against Tunisia during both sides’ 2025 AFCON match on Saturday night.
Simon told reporters that Tunisia took control in the final 15 minutes of the encounter, managing to score twice after trailing 3–0.
“In response to your question, the coach has the answers, not me. We weren’t tired,” Simon said in his post-match interview when asked about Nigeria’s struggles against Tunisia in the second half.
“Tunisia dominated the last fifteen minutes, even though we [Nigeria] had more chances to score. We could have scored more than three goals.
“In our last match [against Tanzania], we scored two goals, and in this game against Tunisia, we managed three. I think we’re improving.”
Simon, who came off the bench against Tunisia, will hope to start in Nigeria’s final Group C tie against Uganda on Tuesday.
