EPL: Fredrick signs new deal at Brentford, promoted to first team
by Mike Oyebola · Daily PostSuper Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick has been promoted to Brentford’s first-team squad for the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Fredrick has also signed a new four-year contract with the Bees, with a club option for a further year.
The 21-year-old initially joined Brentford B on loan from Simoiben Football Academy in August 2023.
He was named on the bench for two Premier League matches and two FA Cup ties before Brentford made the move permanent in April 2024.
Fredrick spent last season on loan at Belgian Pro League outfit Dender EH.
The versatile centre-back was, however, sidelined for a lengthy spell after sustaining an injury in Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifier against the Democratic Republic of Congo last November.
