Manchester United give Jonny Evans new appointment

Manchester United have appointed their former defender Jonny Evans as the head of loans and pathways at the club.

The Red Devils disclosed this in a post on their website on Monday.

Evans’s appointment comes after the Northern Irishman announced his retirement from professional football.

The 37-year-old is currently in the final stages of completing his UEFA A Licence and will lead on loans for Man United’s young players.

Evans will also work closely with Man United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, to maximise individual player development and prepare young talent to perform in the first team.

His transition into the role confirms the end of his illustrious playing career across his two stints at Old Trafford.

Evans made 536 senior appearances for Man United and won the Champions League, three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and two League Cups for the club.
