AFCON 2025: CAF suspends Egypt duo for Super Eagles clash
by Mike Oyebola · Daily PostEgypt will be without midfielder, Marwan Attia and forward, Salah Mohsen for their third-place encounter with Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.
The duo were suspended for the game by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, for their unsportsmanlike conduct following Egypt’s 1-0 semi-final loss to Senegal.
Attia made a gesture suggesting that the referees had been bribed, while Mohsen made mocking gestures toward Senegalese journalists.
Their suspension came as a big blow for Pharaohs head coach, Hossam Hassan, who is already juggling absences heading into the clash with Nigeria.
The seven-time champions will face the Super Eagles at the Mohammed V Stadium, Casablanca on Saturday (today).
The game will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
