Rooney makes fresh title prediction involving Arsenal, Man City, others

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has offered his latest Premier League title prediction.

Rooney noted that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will finish above Aston Villa in the Premier League table this season.

Arsenal are currently two points ahead of City and three points ahead of Villa in the table.

“Arsenal are still favourites [to win the Premier League title] for me, but City are looking good and dangerous again. I still fancy Arsenal with the squad they have,” Rooney said on his BBC podcast.

When asked if he sees Aston Villa as a genuine challenger for the title this term, Rooney added: “No. If we’re realistic, no.

“In terms of the title race, there is no chance Aston Villa will finish above Man City or Arsenal.”
