AFCON 2025: Tinubu reacts as Super Eagles beat Algeria in quarterfinals

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles for winning 2-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final against Algeria.

The President also told the team to keep working hard, adding that every Nigerian is supporting them.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Algeria’s Desert Warriors 2-0 on Saturday and advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.

After the game on Saturday, the President posted his comments on his verified X account, @officialABAT.

The Nigerian leader praised Eric Chelle’s team and told them to stay focused as they continue to the semi-final stage of the competition.

“Go, Super Eagles!” Tinubu said, adding: “You have the backing of all Nigerians.”

The president’s speech comes as the nation feels more confident about winning the trophy.

The Super Eagles want to win the African championship in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

Nigeria’s upcoming match is a semi-final game against Morocco, the host country.
