EPL: It makes sense – Joe Cole advises Casemiro to leave Man Utd

by · Daily Post

Former Chelsea player Joe Cole has insisted that it “makes sense” for Casemiro to leave Manchester United during this January transfer window.

It appears that Casemiro is not part of new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim’s plans for this season.

The Brazilian international made an impressive start at Old Trafford following his £70 million move from Real Madrid in 2022. He scored seven goals in 51 appearances during an excellent debut season for the Red Devils.

However, he has struggled to replicate that form and has made just four starts in all competitions since Amorim’s arrival last November.

Casemiro has been linked with a move to Al-Nassr to join his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.

“It makes sense,” Cole said regarding rumors of Casemiro’s proposed move from United to Saudi Arabia on Al Arabiya News’ The Dressing Room podcast.

“They’re bringing big, big players over there, and Casemiro is a big, big player. It doesn’t look like he’s part of Amorim’s plans,” he added.

Casemiro’s current contract with United is set to expire in 18 months.
