CHAN 2024: Eric Chelle to lead Home Eagles title quest

The Malian was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old is expected in Nigeria on Sunday to finalise details of his contract.
Chelle’s first major assignment will be CHAN 2024, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
“We have come out with the policy that whoever we employ as the Super Eagles coach will also be the one to manage the affairs of the CHAN Eagles,” president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau said in an interview.
“We want players from the domestic league to be injected into the Super Eagles.”
Nigeria qualified for CHAN 2024 after a 3-1 aggregate win over perennial rivals, Ghana last month.
The Eagles are making a return to the competition after a six-year absence.
The draw for CHAN 2024 will hold at the International Convention Centre, Nairobi, Kenya next week Wednesday.
