Ruben Amorim told Manuel Ugarte hidden trait as he prepares for Manchester United change
by Stephen Killen · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte was praised by Uruguayan media for his involvement in their draw with Brazil.
The 23-year-old will now link up with former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim, whom he made 85 appearances under in Portugal's top-flight. Ugarte will be looking to hit the ground running under his former boss after a stop-start beginning to life in Manchester.
United are looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League when they travel to newly-promoted Ipswich Town on Sunday. Ugarte will be hoping to dust off any fatigue from Uruguay's World Cup qualification campaign during the November internationals.

With Uruguay playing a back four, Ugarte slotted into a midfield three as an anchor alongside Tottenham's Rodrigo Bentancur and Federico Valverde of Real Madrid. Amorim is expected to play a three-man defence at United but will no doubt have been pleased to learn that Ugarte can also play a starring role in front of a traditional back four if required, dropping in to defend and then look to dictate play when in possession.
Uruguayan outlet El Observador analysed the 23-year-old's performance and despite a slow start, hailed his impact in order to earn a point. They wrote: "He started off behind and often dropped in between the defenders to widen the defensive spectrum against a Brazil that came out to attack with a very wide attacking front.
"He made a couple of wrong passes but was not intimidated. When he could play out, he spread Bruno Guimaraes with a hook and caused a foul that was a yellow card, although Piero Maza saved him from it.
"At 25′, in one of the many balls that Brazil tried to filter through the central lane, he saved with a bicycle kick. He was well cautioned at 40′ for a foul that arose after a recovery on Bentancur who was surprised by three rivals.
"In the second half, every time he got into the area, he arrived with precise help and key recoveries. Lion."
