Manchester United supporters 'angrier' than Liverpool and Man City in Premier League study

Manchester United supporters have been listed as among the 'angriest' fans in the Premier League according to a new study.

United have had a mixed start to the campaign in Erik ten Hag's third season in charge. The Reds have secured league victories over Fulham and Southampton but also fell to defeats at the hands of Brighton and Liverpool.

A study conducted by SeatPick involved analysis of all 20 Premier League teams' subreddit pages on Reddit for comments and messages left by fans. The study measured the use of swear words per post in order to hand out scores to each fanbase.

The 'anger score' is out of 10, with 10 being the most angry. According to the study, United supporters are the fifth angriest fanbase in the Premier League with a 6.7 anger score.

United are behind Everton in fourth with an anger score of 7.1, while Nottingham Forest are third with their 8.1 score. Second is West Ham with an 8.3 anger score, while Newcastle supporters are listed as the most angry fanbase in the Premier League with a score of 9.4.

United are marginally above Manchester City when it comes to anger from their respective fanbase. City supporters have been handed an anger score of 6.4 while is joint-sixth alongside Wolves.

Tottenham are next on the list with a 5.6 anger score, while Aston Villa are just below Spurs with a score of 5.0. The likes of Arsenal (4.7), Chelsea (2.8) and Liverpool (2.5)are all well below United in the list with their respective anger scores. At the bottom of the list are Brentford and Bournemouth, with their fanbases each receiving an anger score of 0.8.
