2025 World Darts Championship draw in full as Luke Littler and Luke Humphries learn opponents
by Kieran King · Manchester Evening NewsLuke Littler is set to begin his quest for his first World Darts Championship title with a second round tie against either Fallon Sherrock or Ryan Meikle. Littler, who was the runner-up to Luke Humphries in an 11-leg thriller at Alexandra Palace earlier this year, has had an impressive debut season and will be aiming to add the Sid Waddell Trophy to his growing list of titles in 2024.
After winning the Premier League in May, he followed it up with victories in the World Series and Grand Slam. Ranked fourth in the world behind Humphries, Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen, boyhood Manchester United supporter Littler faces a tough challenge in his first game.
The winner of the Meikle against Sherrock will take on Littler in the second round, with the date yet to be confirmed. In other news, Luke Humphries will start his defence of the World Championship with a tie against Thibault Tricole or Joe Comito.
Humphries added the Players Championship to his trophy cabinet on Sunday and hopes to become the first back-to-back world champion since Gary Anderson in 2016. Meanwhile, Smith will face the winner of Kevin Doets and Noa-Lynn van Leuven, Van Gerwen will take on either James Hurrell or Jim Long, while fifth-seed Rob Cross will play against Scott Williams or Niko Springer.
There are 32 first round ties in total, with 32 second round ties to follow. Here is the full draw for the World Championship. The tournament kicks off on Sunday, December 15 and will run until Friday, January 3.
