'It's nuts' - Frank Warren's brutal scorecard verdict after Tyson Fury's defeat to Oleksandr Usyk

Promoter Frank Warren was quick to express his dismay following Tyson Fury's unanimous points loss to world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh, describing the scoring as "nuts". Despite putting up a strong challenge, Fury was defeated 116-112 on all three judges' scorecards, failing to overturn his sole career defeat and watching Usyk retain his WBA, WBC, and WBO belts.

The defeat saw the 36-year-old from Morecambe leave the ring questioning the decision. After the bout, Warren immediately voiced disbelief at the judges' decision while talking to DAZN: "How did Tyson only get four rounds in this fight? It's impossible," he said, via the Express.

He added: "Only four rounds. Each of them gave him four rounds, four different rounds. I'm not saying this because I'm biased, but everyone along the front there all thought it went the same way.

"It's nuts. It's nuts, I don't get it. I'm really disappointed with that. I thought he was in control of the fight and boxed extremely well. Usyk was on the back foot for most of the fight, but it is what it is."

Following a second consecutive loss to Usyk, Fury's future in boxing becomes uncertain, but Warren avoided speculating on his next move: "I don't know. He's very disappointed, like I am as well. It's up to him,"

With post-fight emotions running high, any decisions about Fury's career would have to wait "It's too early, just after a fight," Warren added. "We'll have to wait and see what happens for Tyson in the future. He'll have to makeup his mind."

Meanwhile, Usyk called upon Saudi Arabian boxing influencer Turki Alalshikh to set up a rematch with Daniel Dubois, after the British IBF champ made an appearance in the ring during the post-fight interviews. In August 2023, Dubois suffered a ninth-round knockout at the hands of Usyk but bounced back impressively, climaxing with a stunning victory over Anthony Joshua in October.

"I want my revenge. I want my revenge Usyk! Well done tonight, well done. God bless. I want my revenge for the robbery last time. Let's go, let's go. Make it happen Frank! " exclaimed Dubois.

In response, Usyk declared: "Your excellency, make the fight with Daniel Dubois. Thank you so much.

"I can do more. I'm ready to fight (Dubois), no problem. Next fight no problem. Now I want to go home and rest."

Usyk also extended his respects to Fury, following their second epic clash that contributed to their dramatic rivalry.

"He's a great fighter, a great opponent and it was a great 24 rounds. Unbelievable 24 rounds in my career. Thank you so much," Usyk said.
