Discover the fun of curling with Team GB Foundation's 2026 Winter Olympics partner
by Leena Sidat · Manchester Evening NewsOver the past few years, curling has become increasingly popular, gaining momentum as one of the UK’s favourite winter sports.
However, it’s no longer something you can only do on the ice.
An iceless, portable adaptation of traditional curling, floor curling offers a fun and more accessible way for players of all ages and abilities to experience the strategy and spirit of the rising sport.
Available at The Curling Club’s flagship venues in Manchester and London, visitors can try floor curling from only £12.50pp, with sessions ranging from 30 to 60 minutes, for two to 10 players.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try the sport minus the cold ice, or you’re already a self-proclaimed pro looking for a new challenge, floor curling at The Curling Club is a fantastic activity to enjoy with friends and family alike - all year round.

Curling’s increased profile and interest have led to it becoming a firm fixture of the Olympics programme - and this February, it will once again form part of the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
Excitingly, Team GB Foundation have partnered with The Curling Club for the games in an effort to make casual curling more mainstream and inspire a new wave of participants to engage with one of Britain’s most dynamic and competitive winter sports.
Olympic gold medallist and Team GB’s Chef de Mission for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Eve Muirhead has also signed on for a fourth year as The Curling Club's ambassador, sharing her competitive spirit and passion for curling with the brand.

Ahead of the Olympics, fans and first-timers alike can get a taste of the action with The Curling Club offering interactive floor curling experiences at its established venues nationwide, including Manchester's The Square and London Bridge’s Vinegar Yard.
There will also be free pop-up ice rinks at Canary Wharf’s Marceline and Chelsea Illuminations’ Winter Village to offer even more people the chance to play, practice, and experience the fun of ski curling.
What’s more, The Curling Club will be broadcasting the Winter Olympics live in its venues each day throughout February, so you can pop in for a bite and some professional sporting action before taking to the floor yourself.

Taking place in February, the tournament will coincide with the 2026 Winter Olympics and invites people to get involved at The Curling Club’s venues in London and Manchester.
Free to enter, the UK Floor Curling Championships will feature 32 teams per venue, with four players per team and up to two substitutes.
Teams can register their interest via thecurlingclub.com, with entries selected through a ballot system in January 2026.

With the introduction of the new championship event, the UK has joined a growing list of countries - including India, China, and South Korea - that have embraced floor curling as part of their national sporting calendar.
Additionally, as Team GB prepares to take to the ice at the 2026 Winter Olympics, the UK Floor Curling Championships aims to celebrate elite performance, while encouraging and supporting grassroots engagement to grow curling as a sport across the nation and further afield.
