It's not long until Manchester United start their FA Cup defence with the draw for the third round of the 2024/25 competition is set to take place on Monday evening. All 20 Premier League teams, including United and Manchester City and the 24 Championship sides will enter the tournament, joining the remaining 20 clubs who triumph in their second round ties over the weekend.

United will be looking to retain the trophy under new manager Ruben Amorim. The lowest-ranked teams still in the competition are Gainsborough Trinity, Harborough Town and Kettering Town from the seventh tier, all hoping for a high-profile tie if they win their second round matches.

When is the draw?

The third round draw for the 2024/25 FA Cup is scheduled for Monday, December 2, and will be broadcast on the BBC. Coverage is expected to start at 7pm and finish at 7.30pm. Kelly Somers will present the show.

How can I watch the draw?

The draw will be aired live in the UK on BBC Two. It can also be streamed live and free of charge on the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer, as well as on all Emirates FA Cup social media channels.

When are the third round matches?

The FA Cup's third round is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, January 11, 2025. Matches are anticipated to take place over the dates of January 10/11/12/13, 2025.

Clubs victorious in the third round will receive £115,000 from the competition's prize fund.
