Mo Salah reveals all about Arne Slot's half-time teamtalk to inspire Liverpool comeback
Liverpool had to come from behind to beat Southampton and extend their lead at the top of the Premier League but Arne Slot was not completely happy with what he saw
by Dan Marsh · The MirrorMohamed Salah admitted that Arne Slot had plenty to say at half-time in the wake of Liverpool's rousing fightback against Southampton.
A mix-up at the back meant the Reds were trailing the Premier League's bottom club at the break, only for Salah and Co to roar back in the second half and produce a 3-1 victory.
Salah was on the scoresheet twice, converting a pair of penalties after Darwin Nunez's 51st minute strike. Their goals mean Liverpool are now 16 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the table ahead of their game with Manchester United tomorrow.
But while everything turned out alright in the end, Slot was not happy at half-time - and he let his players know it.
Salah revealed all during his post-match interview when he was asked what Slot had said at the break. The Egyptian said: "It was a bit of frustration. His head was going for us.
"We were sloppy and slow in the first half. I don't think we played good today. If you want to win the Champions League or Premier League you have to win these games like that."
Victory at Anfield rounded off another positive week for Liverpool, who also beat Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie in Paris.

Harvey Elliott was the hero in midweek, scoring just moments after replacing Salah late in the game. He made another big impact from the bench against Southampton when Slot needed him, but the midfielder wasn't getting carried away after yet another win.
Speaking after the match, Elliott said of his cameo: "In my eyes, it's just my job to come on and influence the game where I can.
"The last two games have been very tough - it is not about me, it's about the whole team. It was an intense game. Especially with the travel, we only had one day to prepare for this game and hats off to Southampton - they made it tough throughout the whole game.
"We need to keep winning games - it's as simple as that. It's about taking it game-by-game and making sure we apply ourselves in the best possible way."
