BetVictor is offering new customers the opportunity to have £40 when they sign-up and bet £10 on the Champion Hurdle on day one of Cheltenham Festival.

The final day of Cheltenham is upon us and what a spectacle we have witnessed over the last few days. Some of the finest horses have gone head-to-head and trainer rivalries renewed once again but now all eyes will be on the main event this week - the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Last year’s winner Galopin des Champs strides into this year’s installment as the bookies favourite to win three successive Gold Cups and become the first horse to do that since Best Mate from 2002-2004. The historic achievement will also be the first time an Irish-trained horse has done this since Cottage Rake back in 1950 as Willie Mullins eyes his fifth Gold Cup victory - equalling Tom Dreaper’s 57-year record.

This season, the competition landscape has thinned considerably, making it challenging to identify a strong challenger. Fact To File, a stablemate, emerged as a potential threat after clinching the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham last year. However, Galopin appears to have surpassed him, and Fact To File is now more likely to aim for the Ryanair.

Fact To File started his season at the John Durkan Memorial at Punchestown, where he and Spillane’s Tower initially outperformed him. It was a necessary outing for him, and the 2m3f distance was on the shorter side for his current capabilities.

He then impressively secured back-to-back victories at Leopardstown in the Savills Chase and the Irish Gold Cup, cementing his status as the division's top contender. His resilience and stamina are exceptional; he consistently demonstrates his robust constitution by reliably performing at a high level.

The Gold Cup is known for its demanding nature, often depleting the energies of participating horses, which is reflected in the rarity of multiple winners. Yet for him, it seems just another opportunity to showcase his enduring strength and commanding presence, maintaining peak performance year after year.
