Man Utd chief Omar Berrada drops hint on Ruben Amorim future and transfer plans
Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada has shared an insight into the club's future planning and whether or not Ruben Amorim will be backed in the summer transfer window
by Dan Marsh · The MirrorOmar Berrada says Ruben Amorim has already been involved in conversations about the club's summer transfer plans - and that he WILL be able to spend.
The Red Devils are poised to record their lowest ever finish in the Premier League era with Amorim struggling to achieve consistent results since taking the reins in November.
The club's bleak financial situation means Amorim has largely been forced to work with the squad he inherited from Erik ten Hag with Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven the only senior signings made in January, while some have also scrutinised his record.
But Berrada has confirmed the club and Amorim are working together to plan ahead when it comes to recruitment, revealing that the Portuguese coach and United's technical director, Jason Wilcox, are aligned in their vision for United's future.
Speaking to TNT Sports before United's crunch Round of 16 decider against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, Berrada said: "We speak to Ruben [Amorim] very frequently. Ruben has a good relationship with Jason Wilcox. They both share the vision of how they want to see the team playing."
United's financial woes have led some to question whether or not Amorim will have the scope to rebuild the beleaguered squad he's been working with.
But United's chief executive confirmed the former Sporting Lisbon chief will have cash to spend regardless of whether the club qualify for Europe or not.

"It is about planning properly for the summer transfer window and having a clear idea of what players we want to bring in," he continued. "We're making some big efforts to get us in the best financial position. Even if we're outside of Europe - I think we will be in a position to invest in the squad.
"Our ambition is to win tonight and win the Europa League and be in the Champions League which is where I think we belong."
