Tottenham star Dominic Solanke hits back at Jamie Carragher's comments on Ange Postecoglou

by Oli Gamp · The MirrorTottenham striker Dominic Solanke has hit back at Jamie Carragher's claim that Ange Postecoglou must adapt his attacking methods to bring success to the club.
Spurs have suffered from an inconsistent campaign after seven wins and seven defeats in the Premier League this term.
Postecoglou's team have scored 36 goals - the second highest in the top flight - but have shown huge vulnerabilities at the other end too, with their chaotic 4-3 win over Manchester United in midweek summing up their season.
The nature of that victory, which saw Spurs go 3-0 up before two calamitous mistakes allowed United back into the game, led to stern criticism from Carragher, who slammed Tottenham's game management under Postecoglou and insisted he needed to adapt his tactics to help the team see out games.
But Solanke disagreed with Carragher's verdict and said the players "loved" the Australian's style of play - insisting the team can win trophies once they find more consistency to their play.
"Ange is very unique in the way he plays and we love it. The way he plays, it suits us," Solanke told the PA news agency. “It is a great style, especially for me being a striker to play in. Like I said, we haven’t been consistent enough this season. We’ve just come off not the greatest run but I feel we’re building towards that consistency.
"We’re like a family, we all want to achieve the same thing and every day we’re on the training ground working towards our goals. Ultimately we want to win stuff and we’re all on the same wave length. We all back each other, all believe in each other, like I said, we’re all on the same page.
"In football there is always times when you are on top and when you have a bit of dip, but it’s about working on the negatives to get that steady flow going. I think it will definitely come."
Spurs have come under fire this season for losing control of games, including their 4-3 defeat to Chelsea that saw them surrender a 2-0 lead and Carragher even went as far as saying the players should ignore Postecoglou's instructions when they're up against it.
"They never change how they play no matter how the game state is. I don't think football should be played the same from minute one to minute 90. The manager has told you to play a certain way but someone has to get a grip and say 'no, we are changing for the next five or 10 minutes."
But Postecoglou hit back at the Sky Sports pundit and said he was happy people were talking about his side. When asked about criticism from pundits, he replied: "Jamie Carragher, mate. You can name him. He'll enjoy that.
"I love the fact people are talking about our games and analysing our games. I think that is important as well for this football club and I'd rather that than us be anonymous and no one talk about us. There is some stuff out there and I find - and at the appropriate time I'll call it out - just offensive towards me."
