Strictly Come Dancing 2024 winner 'revealed' weeks before final as fans convinced

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 hadn't even kicked off before viewers shared who they thought would win the latest series based on pairings alone, weeks before the live final

Viewers preparing to tune into Strictly Come Dancing's live launch on Saturday night shared their thoughts on the likely 2024 winner, all before seeing any of them dance.

Following the new couples being announced last week and song choices being announced, viewers have been sharing their theories based on pairings alone over who will likely take home the Glitterball Trophy. Of course it is all to play for, and recent years have seen contestants not have the best start only to go on and win, or at least make the final.

But in a huge year for Strictly including Amy Dowden's return after her cancer battle, pro Aljaž Škorjanec's own comeback after quitting, and a controversy surrounding two now former pros, fans are hoping to see the show they know and love. It's not the celebrities with some dance training tipped to win either, with fans naming two pairings they think could make the final and win.

Obviously only one pair can win the show, with an initial theory suggesting comedian and actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola had what it takes - with Vito winning last year alongside Ellie Leach. But now it's another comedian fans want to win the show, while another couple is strongly tipped to beat their co-stars to victory.

Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell are wanted as champions this year by fans after Chris' hilarious one liners in interviews, online clips and during the pairing show last weekend. One viewer posted: "Chris to win!" as another said: "He might go on to win it!"

Other fans are convinced Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe will win, with them being a favourite out of all the couples. Fans backing the pairing predicted they could do very well before they'd even stepped on the dance floor, with one fan saying: "I know it's early, but I think that Montell and Johannes will win."

Another comment read: "Saying it now Montell and Johannes will win." Of course this could all change after the pairs have taken to the floor and performed for the first time. It comes as fans were moved to tears by a tribute to two former stars of the show last weekend.

Pictures of professional dancer Robin Windsor and Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers flashed up at the end of Saturday's episode, as the BBC show paid its respect. Robin died in February this year at the age of 44, while TV chef Dave died in the same month at the age of 66 after being diagnosed with cancer.

The much-loved pair are not the only stars to have died prematurely after competing on Strictly, with the show seeing its fair share of tragedy in its 20 year history.
