The Blues were drawn against Championship opposition and the London derby was selected for live broadcast by TNT Sports. However, the game was stopped in the opening quarter of an hour due to a medical emergency.
Charlton's X account confirmed the reason behind the stoppage, posting: "There has been a break in play due to a medical emergency in the crowd."
